The PPPP of the marketing mix in a food business

Imagen
For this blog I will apply the “Marketing mix” in a food company, the marketing mix is the minimum variables necessary to be able to develop efficient and effective strategies for the selected market, which in this case will be the food market. It is formed by 4 aspects, the PPPP of the marketing mix:  First we have to focus on the product, in this aspect you need to analyze which expectation the consumer has on your food, doing this by comparing the direct and indirect competitors of your business, and with that improve your product and service, for fulfilling the client’s necessity and expectations. Then we have to see the promotion for the business, this area refers to the channels of communication between the company and the consumer, we use it to remind the client the existence of the company for it to attend, and if has attended once to remind him the good service and invite them to come again. The next aspect is very important, the price. Most of the times one of the m...

The SWOT analysis in a food business

Imagen
This week we saw a topic that can work for almost every type of company, from a newly formed one to a big company (with obvious differences between each other). I will make the SWOT Analysis for a regular food selling company. First of all we have to see the strengths, in this case we need to see which are the controllable aspects of the company, like quality-price relation or a program for a better serving or home delivery service. Then we should see the weaknesses of the business, or in an optimistic way “opportunity areas”, or even this weaknesses could be things that the business can’t directly control, like the consumer way of buying or thinking. In this case the best way to face these weaknesses is to have a creative mind that can look for better solutions for whatever aspect a food business can have.  Then we have to see the opportunities, which are mostly external aspects, that can’t be controlled by the company in the present, but benefits of could benefit the business in ...

Management Process

Imagen
This time I will talk about a topic that impressed me, and that changed my perspective of a business itself. This topic made me realize that for a company to be a real business it is needed a great management process, and that is exactly the topic I am talking about. There are four basic functions of management, planning, organizing, leading and controlling. I will try to explain these in the point of view of a small food business. The first step is the planning in which this company should establish organizational goals and create a course of action to achieve them. In this case the food business must think about what things it should consider before starting the business or maybe launching a new food. The second step is organizing, in which the company must distribute the actual resources and delegate tasks to the employees to achieve the goals stablished in the planning stage.  In this case the food business should consider which person will be encharged of observing the d...

Canvas Model

Imagen
In this opportunity I will talk about a topic I consider very interesting, mostly because more than a skill, it is a tool that I can use for my future, and it is a tool that could possibly help me and save me from inconvenient moments in a future business when presenting my company to potential investors. I am talking about the famous canvas model, this is a kind-off presentation design for company owners. This canvas model is a tool for presenting the structure of a business, talking about diverse aspects of the company. I will try to explain as resumed as possible the areas that this canvas model explains.  The first one is the key partners, this refers to the main external partners for your company. The key activities refer to the necessary activities for your business to work. The Key resources refers to the main products your company will need to make business. The value propositions refer to what are you offering to your clients or how you will solve their problem or ne...

Democratic, and “Laissez-Faire” leaders.

Imagen
This week I learned about the types of leadership that can be seen in history and even nowadays. In my last blog I talked about autocratic leaders, a very interesting topic, in this time I will be talking about the other two types of leadership we saw, democratic and laizzes-faire. First I will talk about the most basic one, laizzes-faire, in french it means to “let it happen, let it be”, this refers to the total omision of rules and even leadership, everybody can do what they want or consider should do, basically this type of leadership shines for the lack of leadership, and there is no more science in it. The other, and most important type of leadership ( in my opinion)  is the democratic leader, which comes from democracy, which is the most used type of government nowadays. This leader shines because his decisions aren’t arbitrarily made, there is an order, and it’s done what the majority wants, not just him, or not just letting it be.  Most of the times a democratic ...

Autocratic leaders.

Imagen
This week I learned about some of the different types of leadership that can be historically seen in almost all governments and societies of the world, in this blog I will talk about one of them. The first one we talked about was the autocratic leaders, this type of leadership refers to the individual control of the leader over al the decisions and an insignificant contribution of the group members. There are many examples throughout history that can easily explain this type of leaders, for example when the kings and queens of Europe decided everything and even sometimes owned practically everything in their kingdoms. This kings were sometimes cruel, and even ignorant (for example Marie Antoinette, from France) making a complete disaster in all the country because of their apathy and lack of knowledge of the real world. Sometimes the autocratic leaders can have real respect from their members, for example Adolf Hitler, who created a nationalist and socialist (NAZI) speech that was...
